The Costa del Sol’s leading association of high-end property entrepreneurs has announced details of its third annual award for architectural excellence. The inaugural edition of the DOM3 Award in 2014 was centred on the construction of a villa in La Zagaleta (Benahavís municipality) and the second award in 2016 on developing a plot of land in the Santa Clara area in Marbella.  Now, for the 2018 award, entrants will be focusing on the third key municipality within DOM3’s area of expertise, Estepona. The final result will be announced during a gala presentation in June 2018, and the prize-winner will have the opportunity of working with the team that eventually develops the Estepona project. According to the DOM3 president, landscape architect Laura Pou, the objective of this new edition of the architecture award is to further boost its prestige. Last year, for example, 140 entries were received from 25 international cities, representing 17 different nationalities.  DOM3 (www.dome3.es) comprises a group of 30 companies involved with the design, development, construction and marketing of luxury properties, mainly located in Marbella, Estepona and Benahavís, and committed to promoting initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of businesses in the sector and encourage public authorities to recognise the importance of quality as a driving force behind projects in this area.  Pictured: DOM3 president Laura Pou with architect members of the 2016 award judging panel, Rafael de la Hoz, Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra, Antonio Cruz and Juan de Gavilanes
