El Corte Inglés has launched a new multi-area gastronomy concept high above the streets of Málaga city. Gourmet Experience is described as “the largest culinary space in Málaga, combining tastings and quality tapas with the sale of gourmet products”.
The area has been conceived to offer select Spanish and international products, on the panoramic sixth floor of the El Corte Inglés department store in the city centre (Avda. De Andalucía). There are already six similar initiatives in Madrid (Goya, Castellana, Callao and Ayala), Alicante and Sevilla. Ten top brands are showcasing their products in this cutting-edge, innovative space, which extends over 2,000 square metres and includes a special dining area, a GastroBar in the Gourmet Club, and an amphitheatre where clients can watch dishes being prepared – while also enjoying stunning views across the Málaga city skyline to the iconic cathedral.
A diverse spectrum of cuisine is offered at Gourmet Experience: Asian, Mexican, Italian, roast specialities, creative Michelin star dishes, hamburgers, natural ice-creams, sweets, artisanal desserts and French pastries, as well as Italian espresso coffee, cocktails and a bodega offering the finest Spanish and international wines.
Diners can book their own exclusive space, with a personalised service, and children are catered for in the “Happy Sport” area with a wide range of leisure activities based on languages and sport, plus cooking classes for the youngsters.
