Spanish photographer Jaime Massieu Marcos won the “Open Split Second” category of the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards. Although not a professional photographer, Marcos’s entry was selected from nearly 80,000 entries from around the world. He lives in Madrid, where he works in the audio-visual industry. His winning image, titled “Suspended Animation”, was taken at the basketball World Cup in Madrid in September 2014. His success entitled him to compete against the winners of the other nine open categories for the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards Open Photographer of the Year title – due to be announced as Home & Lifestyle Magazine went to press. www.worldphoto.org
